The government approved the procedure for military training of university students

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved the Procedure for military training of students of higher educational institutions under the reserve officer training program. The relevant resolution was approved at a meeting of the Government on February 1 of this year.
The purpose of military training of students is to provide the Armed Forces and other military formations with the necessary number of military-trained citizens, as well as to exercise the right of citizens to equal opportunity in choosing a profession. Military training is one of the main sources of staffing of the Armed Forces. Therefore, it continues to be an important point in defense planning documents.
The resolution approved: Provisions on military training of Ukrainian citizens under the reserve officer training program, List of higher educational institutions whose students undergo military training under the reserve officer training program, List of military accounting specialties from which reserve officer training is conducted.
The adoption of the resolution allows for regulatory improvement of the procedure for conducting military training of students under the reserve officer training program for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, other military formations formed in accordance with the laws of Ukraine, as well as special law enforcement agencies and the State Special Transport Service.
The document also provides for the implementation of the constitutional norm on ensuring the exercise of the right to equal opportunity in choosing a profession by acquiring additional knowledge, skills and abilities necessary for the proper performance of military duty in the reserve in peacetime, military service duties in wartime and for future professional activity. The normative act defines the list of higher educational institutions on the basis of which military training will be carried out.
The implementation of this resolution does not require additional costs from the state budget.
