The Ministry of Youth and Sport has announced a competition for the post of rector of KPI

By order of the Ministry of Education and Science, Youth and Sports No. 87 dated 30.01.2012, a competition for the position of rector of NTUU «Kyiv Polytechnic Institute» was announced. UNN was informed about this in the press service of the ministry.
As reported by the department, today at a meeting of the Government of Ukraine, a resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine was adopted regarding amendments to the Statute of the National Technical University of Ukraine «Kyiv Polytechnic Institute» in order to bring it into line with the legislation of Ukraine.
Thus, the government decision removed the obstacles in the announcement of the competition for the post of rector, which arose due to the inconsistency of the Statute of this higher educational institution with the legislation.
We will remind you that the rector of the National Technical University of Ukraine «Kyiv Polytechnic Institute» is elected once every seven years. On November 1, 2011, the seven-year contract of KPI rector Mykhailo Zgurovsky with the ministry ended, since then he has been acting rector of the university. On November 28, Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Mykola Tomenko sent an appeal to the relevant minister with a request to clarify the reasons for the delay in announcing the competition for the post of rector of NTUU «KPI».
